The Best Part of Mardi Gras is the Pre Parties
Fat Tuesday is the end of Mardi Gras and the biggest celebration day, but the event really starts weeks before. Parades are numerous and some are quite unique in their themes. Many of these are accompanied by wonderful pre and post parties with friends and family. We just experienced Krewe du Vieux which is one of NOLA's most satirical parades, and our friends at Bacardi always throw the best pre party at the Bywater Bakery to kick off the fun.
This year was no exception with specialty cocktails featuring Bombay Gin, Martini and Rossi, Angel's Envy Bourbon and of course a special Mardi Gras punch with Bacardi. King Cakes were plentiful of course from the Bakery chefs as well. Guests were entertained by live music from artists that kept dropping by and we ended up being escorted to the start of the parade by the brass band Soul Rebels. You have not experienced a walk down NOLA's streets until you have your own parade with a brass walking band.
Of course we are just getting started so stay tuned for many more updates on the best time in NOLA which is Carnival Time.
