Pasta Envy on St. Claude

St. Claude Avenue continues to undergo upgrades with new places opening even a year after the new streetcar line has been complete. We call them upgrades in NOLA because renovations are too kind of a word when our city tries to fix things. One of our favorite places on the street has always been Arabella Casa Di Pasta and this casual restaurant has been one of the pioneers on St. Claude. Situated across from the Hi Ho Lounge and a stone's throw from the Always Lounge, Arabella always has a great vibe within and serves some very creative and tasty pasta dishes.

Ordering is done at the counter unless you know the staff on duty and this gives you a unique selection of table markers to choose from. We initially had our own Elmo marker created for us by the owner, but of course we were out of practice and left it at home so we went with BB-8 this go round. Food is quick to come out and we tend to order off the signature specials which are named after famous folks like Marco Polo. John Lennon, John Belu-Cheese to name a few. You can also create your own pasta dish to satisfy any of your cravings.

A classic memorabilia section is in an antique cabinet which changes based on the owner's mood and this time, classic comic figures filled the display case. Even the bathrooms are unique as you exit out of a Dr. Who police box once inside. Classic movies are broadcast on the television to add to the atmosphere. Of course the well stocked bar completes the entire package including nicely priced wines and a fine selection of beer on tap. Speciality cocktails are available and listed at each table. So take a little ride down St Claude in the Marigny and get a good taste of New Orleans Italian.
