Bratz and Krampus

It is never difficult to find things to do in New Orleans even in the summer; however, finding some of the craziest things to do requires a little more investigation. The Krewe of Krampus had their summer Luau Oktoberfest fundraiser at Bratz Ya'll in the Bywater and did not disapoint.

For those of you who have no idea who Krampus is we'll quickly translate for you. Krampus is a half goat half demon central European folklore entity who punishes bad children, and in this case bad adults, during the Christmas season. This being New Orleans, Krampus is also a marching krewe who make their appearance at Halloween in full costume scaring the locals in the streets.

Krampus often meets at Bratz Ya'll because this german inspired beer garden in the Bywater has good food, great beer, and nicely priced wines. It shares a warehouse with Pizza Delicious on Piety Street. Krampus released the burlesque entertainment and thilled the crowd as the swords and fire-eaters danced across the stage.
